My daughter has loved foxes for over a year now and when asked what her favourite animal is she always says a fox. So for Christmas I had to make her her own toy fox. With lots of soft toy patterns in the market at the moment I had a lot to choose from but the one from Hop Skip Jump was THE one.

It is currently only available in the Hop Skip Jump book along with 19 other patterns.

Celebrate one year of Henry’s House.

Henry’s House will be ONE on Wednesday 18th January. That’s less than 5 days away! To celebrate, one of you will receive a present; a Tiny Teepee!

: The Tiny Teepee is a great little addition to your child’s room. THIS TEEPEE IS ONLY 72cm HIGH and is the perfect size for teddies and dolls. Not big enough for kids to play in.

If you are the winner, you will be the first person to own a Tiny Teepee as they are not yet available for sale. You can choose between a “boys” or “girls” Tiny Teepee.

Because you were all so great at sharing the Henry’s House Facebook page and got us to 2,000 likers there is a bonus, the winner will also receive an Avery Rabbit to play inside the Tiny Teepee.

Tiny Teepee

I have a bit of an obsession with small things.

If I make something full size I seem to always try and make one in a small size too.

A while ago I made a teeny tiny Teepee to be used as a cake topper and since then I have been itching to make a Teepee that is just the right size to fit Henry’s House Avery Rabbits.

I have finally found the time and this is what I have come up with.

It sill needs a couple of minor adjustments but it is pretty much ready to go. I’ll need to take some “action” photos to show you it’s size and how cute it really is. But for now here are a couple of measurements: height 72cm and width of base 55cm.

These Tiny Teepees will be available in all the standard fabrics and can be made as an exact mini replica of your own Teepee including using your own fabrics from your custom order. They can be purchased as an accessory with your larger Teepee, on it’s own or with an Avery Rabbit to play inside.

I’m looking for feedback and would love to know what you think. Do you think your kids would love to play with it?

Well, at this stage there is only one winner of the Henry’s House “Last Chance” Christmas competition. We didn’t have any entrants in the photo section unfortunately which means only one winner. We have chosen our favourite answer to the question “Why do you need a Henry’s House Teepee for Christmas?” and here it is:

Christmas Countdown

I’m only seven days late, but I’ve made an advent calendar and thought I’d share it with you.

I saw a similar version somewhere and just had to make one. I started with a piece of pine from the hardware store, painted in white and sanded it for that rustic look. I did the same with the pegs.

Then I added little embellishments, wrapped a chocolate and hung them from the pegs.

I also included a nice “activity” in each present. A good deed we can do to help us remember that Christmas is about giving and sharing our love. Today’s said to write a nice note about someone in your family and hide it for them to find later. I can’t wait to see what the children have written to each other. I know it will be something to keep forever.

“Last Chance” Christmas Competition

This is your last chance to get a Teepee for Christmas! I have two Teepees that need a home.

To make it fair and give everyone a chance, I have decided to turn it into a little competition. This is not a giveaway. If you are the winner you will need to pay for your Teepee. The grey floral Teepee is $240 and the Teepee with the pink spot trim is $270. There are two ways to enter:

I am quite often asked which style of Teepee I make the most of. Lately most of my orders are from customers who have been supplying their own fabrics so each one is different. But this Basic Teepee with the Red Spot trims is definitely the number one seller.

With it’s classic colour scheme of red, white and blue it will work perfectly as a boys Teepee but also as a girls Teepee. I LOVE reds paired with pinks to decorate a girls room. Simply change the star on this Teepee to a heart and you’re all set for a girl. And to add a little more of a girlie flair, change the triangle bunting to half circles for that softer pretty look.

Two of a kind

I love it when a customers find their own fabrics and then send them on to me to make them into Teepees. Why do I love it? Because it feels like it’s my birthday every time the postie comes with a package and to open it up and see the gorgeous fabrics inside is just the best.

This was definitely the case when Nicole sent me her fabrics. Nicole wanted two Teepees, matching Mats and half circle Bunting. One Teepee set in pink and the other in blue. I only wish I had time to take better photos because these don’t do the fabric justice. I just love these Teepees. Thank you Nicole for sending me such a great “present”

And after much deliberation, I think I’ve decided that I like the blue the best. Which one is your favourite?
