Christmas Countdown

I’m only seven days late, but I’ve made an advent calendar and thought I’d share it with you.

I saw a similar version somewhere and just had to make one.  I started with a piece of pine from the hardware store, painted in white and sanded it for that rustic look.  I did the same with the pegs.

Then I added little embellishments, wrapped a chocolate and hung them from the pegs.

I also included a nice “activity” in each present.  A good deed we can do to help us remember that Christmas is about giving and sharing our love.  Today’s said to write a nice note about someone in your family and hide it for them to find later.  I can’t wait to see what the children have written to each other.  I know it will be something to keep forever.

How do you count down the days until Christmas?

Thanks. Did you give it a go? You could even just hang a string across a window and peg the “presents” to it. Actually, why didn’t I think of that earlier?? Could have saved me some time!

Thanks Dani. I now have the peg board hanging in my front entrance of the house with photos pegged to it. Not sure what I’ll do this year for an advent calendar. I better decide quick because I only have one day left!
